Field Visit to the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Ministry of Culture & Heritage | Preserving Pakistan’s Cultural Heritage

The Public Administration Association of Pakistan (PAAP), IIUI Male Chapter, successfully organized an educational visit to the Department of Archaeology and Museums, Islamabad, under the National Heritage and Culture Division of Pakistan. The session, guided by Sir Dr. Tahir Saeed, provided PAAP members with a detailed understanding of governance structures, administrative challenges, and evolving policies within the department. Participants explored practical approaches to cultural heritage preservation and engaged in interactive discussions on policy-making and management strategies. A highlight of the visit was the launch of the “Heritage of Pakistan” mobile app, offering virtual access to Pakistan’s rich cultural legacy. The initiative reflects innovation and commitment to making heritage preservation accessible in the digital era. The event successfully bridged academic learning and practical insights, inspiring students to appreciate the complexities of cultural governance while fostering engagement, knowledge, and motivation to contribute meaningfully to Pakistan’s public administration and heritage preservation initiatives.
